Euro Car Parks (ECP) have been appointed to manage parking at Motherwell Shopping Centre.
ECP were appointed to manage the car park to ensure as many parking spaces are made available to genuine Motherwell Shopping Centre customers as possible using ANPR Automatic Number Plate Recognition along with patrolling staff.
ECP have already begun to work closely with key stakeholders to continue the ongoing partnership approach.
Centre manager Geraldine El Masrour said: “The car park will remain free of charge with a maximum stay period of three hours to deter long stay parkers who are not shoppers.
“In addition new security cameras are being installed this week and there will be new signage around the car park.
“All vehicle entrance points will also be clearly sign posted with details of the existing car parking arrangements.
“Drivers using the shopping centre for longer than three hours will be issued with a Parking Charge Notice as before, as may Blue Badge misuse amongst other parking contraventions.
“ECP and Motherwell Shopping Centre agree that we need to adopt a firm but fair stance to eradicate the incorrect use of Blue Badge parking spaces.”
