THE annual review of the Boys’ Brigade held in Motherwell last week was the perfect excuse for the organisation to celebrate 125 years of camps.
Members of the Motherwell. Bellshill and District Boys’ Brigade Battalion celebrated their successes over the last year and the longevity of its BB camp tradition at the review held in the Kings Centre.
During the review, members were given a history lesson which revealed that the first camp took place in 1886 when the 1st Glasgow Company went to Tighnabruaich. They also learned that the first Motherwell Battalion Camp was held in July, 1906 at Kilchattan Bay, Bute.
