MOTHERWELL and Bellshill residents are being urged to join in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.
The event has become the charity’s largest since being launched in 1990, and has raised millions of pounds to fund vital cancer services.
Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Lanarkshire, Angela McCormack, said: “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning celebrates it’s 21st birthday this year and Macmillan’s 100th birthday. We are determined to make this year’s event our biggest ever.”
The idea behind the coffee morning is that people hold their own in their homes, work places or local community. They ask for donations in return for drinks and cakes and then pass on the proceeds to Macmillan.
The day is officially on Friday, September 30, but Macmillan is happy for people to hold events on a day that suits them.
