UDDINGSTON’S attempt to challenge for the Britain in Bloom Award begins in earnest on Saturday with the village’s annual spring clean-up.
The village is again a candidate in the urban category awards and will be hoping to add to its list of successes and accolades in recent years.
As usual the campaign is being spearheaded by Uddingston Pride which will hold its annual clean-up day which will be held on Saturday from 9.30am.
And the groups says help from members of the public is needed more than ever this following the winter bad weather which left quite a few places in the village requiring care and attention to ensure they look their best come the summer.
