A different kind of hospital theatre at Christmas

Children's charity Starlight brought a little festive sparkle into the lives of children, their families and staff on the children's ward at Wishaw General Hospital.

As the children spent Christmas in hospital the pantomime came to them as interactive theatre group The Panto Company performed Sleeping Beauty.

Like their friends, the youngsters also had the opportunity to join in with Christmas carols and party games, recreating some of the fun of Christmas with their families around them.

Wishaw General play specialist Eileen Gibb said: "Play really does help to distract sick children from their illness and treatment and Christmas is the time of year when kids are most mindful of what they are missing out on."
