THE Rainbow Room International salon in Uddingston took centre stage at the firm’s annual congress in Airth Castle Hotel.

The event brought together all 12 of the firm’s Scottish salons and started with a team building exercise of designing a prototype for clients to choose their salon and purchase their hair service from the supermarket shelf.

This was then followed by an afternoon of collection presentations from Uddingston salon owner Suzie McGill, Scottish Hairdresser of the Year 2011, and her fellow artistic team members.

There were three collections in total, which included Acid Candy inspired by neon and acid colours, Monochrome inspired by 60s and 70s geometrics and an Oriental collection inspired by Japanese art and Geisha girls.

In the evening the teams came together for the RRI Awards with Uddingston enjoying great success winning Creative Team Collection and Emma Jane Fraser and Jack Baxter both named Assistant of the Year as the judges couldn’t pick between them.

Suzie McGill said: “I could not be more proud of my team, they have worked so hard over the past year that I know they deserve this success.

“The RRI Congress Awards really motivate the team and inspire them for the year ahead.”
