AN exciting variety of bands and artists will be performing as part of two Soundminds events this month.
The first gig, for over 16s, will take place on Friday at South Dalziel Studios in Motherwell and will feature home-grown talent such as Homeward James, Still Vintage, Alabaster Jones, Danielle Tonner and Southbound.
Tickets are £3 but Soundminds Facebook friends can gain free entry by showing their ’check-in’ to the event on the door.
There is a second gig lined up at The Club in Newarthill, for over 12s, on Friday, August 24, welcomes local bands Sonic Reducers, Interzone, Isotones, Villains are Heroes and Tornado Jones.
Soundminds, organised by Reeltime Music in Newarthill, is now in its fourth year and the gigs encourage young people to support the local music scene, while also challenging the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health.
Soundminds member Michelle Blair said: “We’re really excited about the gigs. Soundminds is a brilliant way to promote positive mental health through music, and also great for local bands to promote their music.”
Tickets are available on the door, or in advance from Reeltime, with doors open at 7pm and the first act on stage at 7.30pm.
