MOTHERWELL wrestler John ‘The Bomb’ Graham doesn’t have to write a letter to Santa this Christmas as he already knows exactly what he wants.
Earlier this month Graham and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) partner Nathan Black lifted the Scottish School of Wrestling (SSW) tag team titles in Livingston and are now on the hunt for a second title when the Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA) returns to Motherwell.
The event at St Bride’s Hall on Saturday, November 26, is set to pit WMD against Adam Shame and Eric Canyon for the SWA tag team titles, but there is one proviso.
If WMD are to get their shot, Graham has to defeat Canyon in a one on one match in Govan the night before in what would be the biggest win of his fledging career.
He said: “To beat Canyon would be the biggest win of my career, he’s a multiple times NWA Scottish champion, so in terms of experience and achievements he’s my toughest test to date.
“Nathan and I were cheated out of the tag belts over a year ago and it’s been a long road to get back in contention and to win in my home town would be special.
“We were also the victims of an injustice at the last event in Motherwell in August, but since then we have been on a real roll, both in singles and tag action, and having already picked up the SSW straps, to end the year with gold from two organisations around my waist would beat any Christmas present.”
SWA takes place from 6-9.30pm and tickets costing £12 (adult), £10 (u14) or £30 (family) are available on the night or at SWA website for a £2 discount off adult and child tickets and a £5 discount from family tickets.
Tickets are also available to buy at G-Force Games, Motherwell.
