A MOTHERWELL dancer celebrated moving to the next stage of Highland dancing by winning trophies at a national competition.
Rachel Harvie (8) is currently a novice within the Highland dancing structure, and is about to move up a level to intermediate.
But the talented dancer wanted to make sure she went out of novice with a bang, and she did exactly that winning a runner-up trophy in the Highland section and winner of the national section at the recent competition in Denny.
Knowetop Primary School pupil Rachel started Highland dancing at just three-years-old, training with the Elaine Reid School of Dancing in Colville Park, Motherwell.
She quickly progressed to take part in competitions the following year, and hasn’t looked back making her way through each level of the dancing structure in her stride.
