Four Motherwell men are aiming to celebrate the return to Glasgow of the Stone Roses and Primal Scream this Saturday in style.

Prior to the two groups taking to the stage on Glasgow Green, a free pre-concert party called What the World is Waiting For takes place from noon-7pm at the nearby BAaD Centre (Barras Art and Design).

What the World is Waiting For has been organised by Robert Chambers of Made In Glasgow, former Scottish Sun page designer and Making the News CEO Tommy Brown, club promoter Iain Patton and musician Gary Nelson.

This is the first time the Stone Roses have performed in Glasgow since they originally split up in 1996 and the four friends decided why wait to get the party started when the concert does?

Kicking the day off will be DJ’s Blair McLaughlan, Joe Higgins and Brian Smyth playing tunes from the baggy hey days.

The event will be family friendly with face painting and live art work of Jackson Pollock and John Squire on display as well as a bar and barbecue available.

There will also be many more surprises and special guests to be revealed on the day.
