TWO women who are taking part in a 10-day trek and building challenge in Cambodia later this year have organised another charity night to boost their fundraising efforts for the trip and the charity Scope.
Carina Canning, from Motherwell, and Julia McLellan, from Viewpark, are holding a race night in Wetherspoons’ Brandon Works pub in Merry Street, Motherwell, on Friday at 6pm.
There is no entry fee and punters can place bets at any time during the night.
The girls’ fundraising efforts will also receive a boost thanks to staff at the pub volunteering for charity events.
Craig Menzies is getting his long hair cut while Daryl Howard and Tam McCourt are both getting their legs waxed. There will also be a raffle.
The girls raised more than £700 by doing a sponsored walk from Motherwell to Glasgow, covering 14 miles.
And 12 people took part in the walk with Motherwell FC legend Stevie Kirk waving the group off. They want to thank everyone who supported this event.
