Motherwell College’s renowned Performing Arts department is to introduce a new National Certificate in Dance, starting this August.

The Foundation course will offer students choreography, ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and street dance, providing expert teaching and training within the college’s state-of-the-art facilities.

As part of the programme, dance students will have the opportunity to complete a National Progression Award in Dance with the chance to progress onto HNC Musical Theatre or Dance

Head of department for Beauty, Sports and Performing Arts, David McShane, said: “We are introducing this foundation course in dance due to demand for dance courses from applicants.

“This course will build on the foundations of dance equipping students to enhance their choreography skills as well as fine-tuning their techniques.

“Our classes are taught by professionals who can give students guidance as they take their first steps towards fulfilling their aspirations.”
