A FLAME-HAIRED beauty has become the first ever woman from Mossend to reach the final stages of the Miss Scotland competition.
Layla Ferguson (18) is set to compete with nine other stunners after becoming one of the top 10 finalists in the search for Miss Scotland 2011 - despite the fact she entered the competition for a laugh.
The teenager could be crowned the winner tonight (Thursday) at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall, walking away with £10,000, an exclusive modelling contract, a car and the chance to represent Scotland at this year’s prestigious Miss World pageant.
The former Bellshill Academy pupil, who is a trainee administrator with North Lanarkshire Council, has come a long way in the competition, despite having never modelled before entering the contest.
With her Celtic looks and good sense humour, she is sure to be a favourite to pick up the crown.
