TWO Bellshill men head to South Africa next month after being signed up by an international promoter to take the sound of The Beatles around the world.
Craig McGown and Grahame Critcher play George Harrison and Ringo Starr in Them Beatles, one of the UK’s best loved Beatles show.
Follow a successful year of theatre, festival and TV appearances in the UK, the group, which also features Clark Gilmour and Joe Kane as John Lennon and Paul McCartney, are now set to take their show overseas.
Produced by Showtime Entertainments, the boys will kick-off their world tour at the Gold Reef City resort in Johannesburg on November 13 with a residency booked until mid-January.
After that they will rack up the air miles with shows planned in Australia and America.
Craig said: “We’ve worked really hard for the last two years at devoting ourselves to creating the best Beatles show around, and we’re delighted it’s being recognised.”
Grahame added: “We wanted people to believe they were watching The Beatles, and so far audiences are agreeing with this.”
The boys will be signing off with special farewell shows to their loyal Lanarkshire and Glasgow fan base with shows at Hamilton Townhouse on Friday, October 21, and at Glasgow’s ABC on Thursday, November 10.
The Hamilton gig starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £15 are available by calling 01698 452299 or visit www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk.
