Lighting up the festive season

THE Voice contestant Barbara Bryceland will join the festivities in Motherwell tomorrow (Thursday) as the Christmas lights are switched on.

Invited by Town Centre Activities (TCA) Local, the former Tom Jones protégé will be performing along with dance troupe BLOK, community choir Soundsational and the eccentric Bags of Rock, who are dragging Scotland’s native instrument into the 21st century, from 3.30pm in Brandon Shopping Centre.

Santa will arrive at about 4.15pm to do the honours after he has finished his shopping at the Christmas Continental Market which opens at 10am.

BLOK, Soundsational and Bags of Rock will also be in Bellshill on Friday, November 23, as the town’s Christmas lights are switched on in the Tesco car park in Main Street.

The fun organised by TCA Local starts around 3.30pm and will be hosted by Real Radio’s Ewen Cameron and STV’s Josie Smith.

In addition to Santa, lights and entertainment the Continental Market will also be making a stop in Bellshill.
