YOUNGSTERS in the Jerviston area of Motherwell proved once again they are a talented bunch when the annual ’Jervy’s Got Talent 2012’ show took place at Jerviston Community Centre.
It was the fifth year the event has been held and 20 children aged between eight and 18 years worked with local volunteers and youth workers from North Lanarkshire Council’s community learning and development section over a 12-week period to put together the show.
Around 80 local people attended the event at which the talent was judged by Nina Mullen (16), chairperson of Motherwell Youth Forum, Frances Hoey (15), the first winner of ‘Jervy’s Got Talent’, and Simon Knight, senior community learning and development worker for youth work in Motherwell.
After much deliberation they named Timmy McConnell, who sang Bruno Mars’s ‘Grenade’, as the overall winner.
