A MINI exhibition about Glencairn Tower has opened at Motherwell Heritage Centre.
The display features footage of Motherwell from the 60s, some panels with images of the tower and stories from its first tenants.
Councillor Barry McCulloch, convener of housing and social work services, said, “It’s nice to produce this small event to highlight the life and times of Glencairn Tower.
“A number of residents have been in touch to tell us about their lives in the tower and we’ve also discovered some fantastic images.
“I’m sure people with an interest in the tower’s history will take the time to pop in and have a look at the old footage and images. Thanks to those who contacted us.”
Running until Thursday, October 20, the Heritage Centre is open to the public on Wednesdays–Saturdays from 10am–5pm.
The 17-storey block is to be demolished later this year.
