Fancy a brief encounter this Saturday?

SATURDAY sees the launch of North Lanarkshire Council’s brand new cultural festival Encounters.

Encounters is a new festival for children and adults that will include, author events, film, visual art, exhibitions, storytelling, drama, music, dance, photography and much more.

The festival takes place throughout October and for an idea of what is going on visit Cumbernauld Shopping Centre, Coatbridge Library or Wishaw Library on Saturday from noon-2pm.

There will be musical and entertainment ‘encounters’ and ‘wee encounters’ such as badge making, museum artefacts, facepainting and storytelling all of which are free.

Highlights of Encounters include Iain Banks, Mushaira, Anne Perry, Macastory, Open Mic Poetry, The Big Draw, Dance in Day, Short for Wee One, Exhibitions, Photography Workshops, Tom Hingly, Focus on Family Days and much more.
