A MOTHERWELL teenager has proved he has just the right amount of festive spirit to be appointed one of Santa’s elves.
Christopher Costello will join other elves at Glasgow’s famous toy store Hamleys over the festive season after successfully passing the audition stage of the competition The Elf Factor.
The 19-year-old took part in a demanding audition in front of the most important judge of all for an aspiring elf – Santa!
Father Christmas was joined by Hamleys very own crop of elves named The North Pole Elite, Hamleys event manager Grant Yuill and Clyde 1 radio presenter Shebhan Littlejohn to judge the competition.
The aspiring elves taking part in the audition on the Clyde 1 stage at the St Enoch Centre were able to showcase their many talents.
There were dancers, singers, toy demonstrators, balloon modellers, poets, elf boy bands and many more fun festive acts. There was a host of talent on offer but Christopher demonstrated to judges that he had The Elf Factor.
Christopher was then invited to Hamleys Elf Camp, which puts would-be elves to the test.
During camp he participated in interviews, role plays, toy demonstrations and a special chat with Santa, who explained the skills needed to be a successful elf.
Christopher is now training in-store preparing for Santa’s breakfast and tea visits with children which will take place from December 1.
