THE Lanarkshire Soul Collective returns to Motherwell on Saturday night for the first time since its launch last year.

The event called ‘steeltownsoul’ will be held at Fir Park Social Club from 8pm-1am, offering supporters a great night of soul music to celebrate Christmas.

The Collective celebrated its first birthday at the South Lanarkshire Council headquarters in October, having been launched at the United Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Motherwell.

It was formed by Motherwell men Brian Smyth, Kevin McCully and Colin ‘Sid’ Wilson along with Blantyre’s Frank Devine who drew inspiration from the Kilt Soul Club that ran for five years in Newmains in the early 90s.

Colin will be taking to the decks on Saturday joined by Collective regulars Fraser Dunn, from Glasgow, another Kilt alumni, and German DJ Jane Lott with special guest Mick Love from Chelmsford.

Entry is £8 on the door.
