A CHARITY event organised by a zumba instructor from Bellshill has raised £1,675 for Yorkhill Hospital Children’s Foundation.
The zumbathon was staged by Fiona Reid, who runs two zumba classes in Bellshill, and took place in Bellshill Academy.
Fiona wanted to raise money for the Glasgow hospital as a ‘thank you’ because of family experience of the treatment provided there.
She said: “I was delighted with the money raised.
“Although it was mainly people from the class who took part, we also had a quite a few people who came along after seeing the event mentioned in the Bellshill Speaker beforehand.
“Everyone who came along worker very hard and had a great time raising the money.
“I would just like thank everyone for their help and support, especially my close family, friends, work colleagues and my zumba classes for donating raffle prizes along with a few companies who donated - Tunnocks, Kwik Fit, Lloyds Pharmacy and Jax & Co hairdressers.
“I would also like to thank Rachel Crichton who accompanied me on the stage and Mandi Bell Photography for coming along and taking all the brilliant pictures so we can look back on the zumbathon.”
Fiona’s classes are held at The Orb on Monday nights and Sacred Heart hall on Thursday nights.
