Rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar is returning for a UK tour following huge success with critics and audiences alike.
Written by the legendary duo Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, you can catch it at The Hydro in Glasgow on Monday, October 1.
Starring Chris Moyles as King Herod, Mel C as Mary Magdalene, Tim Minchin as Judas Iscariot, Alex Hanson as Pontius Pilate and the winner of ITV’s Superstar, Ben Forster in the title role, the arena tour will visit nine cities next month.
The show was originally supposed to come to Glasgow in the spring, but due to enormous demand across the globe, promoters RUG and AEG rescheduled the tour for October.
A worldwide phenomenon that last year celebrated 40 years since it’s first production, it portrays the story of the last seven days of Christ’s life, featuring hit songs such as ‘Superstar’, ‘Heaven On Their Minds’ and ‘Hosanna’.
Andrew Lloyd Webber says: “Last year’s tour was the first-ever UK arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and it surpassed our expectations.
“The response from audiences across the UK and Ireland was overwhelming and the show was everything I had hoped for.
“It’s great news that fans will have a final chance to see the show with the original arena tour cast of Tim Minchin, Mel C, Chris Moyles, Ben Forster and Alex Hanson.”
The show starts at 6.30pm, for ticket details visit The Hydro
