Macastory appear at Bellshill Cultural Centre and Motherwell Library on Saturday as part of North Lanarkshire Council’s cultural festival Encounters.
Fergus McNicol and Ronnie Fairweather perform on a bewildering array of subjects covering issues such as citizenship, bullying, sectarianism, health and the environment to historical figures such as the Vikings, the Greeks and the Scots.
The storytelling is presented in a entertaining and theatrical style using a mixture of stories, poems and songs, and even raps, to breathe life into the characters in order to excite people of all ages.
Fergus said: “We enthuse and inspire youngsters through the wonder of live storytelling developing a love of stories and in turn language.
“Our storytelling sessions go further than that though and are a great springboard for the four capacities of a Curriculum For Excellence.”
Macsatory are in Bellshill at 11am and Motherwell at 2pm.
