With the arrival of spring, budding naturalists are being encouraged to get out and discover the sights and sounds of the season at RSPB Baron’s Haugh in Motherwell.
The reserve is hosting a number of events over April to get visitors closer to the natural world, which is now coming back to life after months of cold, wet weather.
Brilliant Bugs runs tomorrow (Wednesday) and the Wild Food Foraging is on Saturday April 12. Both will run from 2pm til 4pm.
Birds for Beginners is on Thursdays, April 10 and 17, from 10am–noon.
Places are limited and should be booked in advance, cost £2 for adults, £1 for kids and free for RSPB members. Birding for Beginners has a suggested donation of £4 for adults and £3 for children (£3 and £1.50 for members). Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
