Santa Claus arrived at M&D’s Theme Park in style last week to open his Magical Wonderland and open air skating rink, and he didn’t come alone.

Steaming his way into the Strathclyde Park attraction on a special Christmas train packed full of presents and goodies, Santa was joined by Times & Speaker Cute Kids winner Sophia-Mae.

Sophia-Mae from Motherwell was joined by parents Cara Glass and John Tierney as she was introduced to the magic of Christmas.

After being welcomed to the park by a large crowd Santa took Sophia-Mae to see his reindeers before welcoming her into his grotto.

Afterwards the whole family were able to enjoy Santa’s Magical Wonderland complete with Christmas scenes and winter animatronics including a display from the Ice Queen and her pixies.

Knoxy from Clyde 1 was on hand to count down the crowd to Santa’s arrival, while East Kilbride Skating Club performed a spectacular routine to officially open the ice rink.

Tickets for Santa’s Magical Wonderland costs from £7.95 for children and £5.25 for adults including tea or coffee and mince pie.

Tickets to M&D’s On Ice cost from (off peak) £5.25 for children, £6.25 for adults 16+, £8.25 for a toddler under five plus one adult and £19.75 for a family of four including one adult.
