Canadian comedian Stewart Francis is set to play Motherwell Concert Hall.

The ‘Pun Gent’ - known for his dry one-liners and deadpan delivery - will perform as the headliner of The Therapy Room comedy weekender on Saturday, May 7.

The event is being run in association with NHS Lanarkshire and will feature a host of comedians performing at the concert hall, as well as at Airdrie Town Hall, on May 7 and 8.

Stewart became a household name after his appearances on 8 out of 10 cats and Live at the Apollo, but he is perhaps best known for his appearances on Mock the Week alongside top UK comedians including Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard and Irish comedian Dara Ó Briain.

After his first appearance on Mock the Week, Stewart proved an instant hit with the British public, and he was invited to become a regular guest on the show.

Since Mock the Week, Stewart has toured the UK several times and has released two DVDs.

Also on the bill for this show are Liam Withnail, Jamie Dalgliesh, Patrick Rolink and young star in the making Ryan McGuigan.

Tickets, costing £20, are expected to be snapped up fast. To book call 01698 403120 or visit culturenl.co.uk/stewart-francis/.
