More than 50 young dancers staged an all-day dancing marathon in aid of Save the Children in Holytown Parish Church Hall - donated free of charge for the day.
And although the money is still coming in, because many families were away for the October break, the bold bid by Baby Ballet dance school, Fantastica and other local groups is already reckoned to have been a brilliant success.
The home baking stall laid on for the day raised £90 on its own, even before any of the many donations are taken into account.
And at the same time the scores of local people who called by to see what all the fuss was about were treated to an hour-long dance spectacular covering many different styles.
Organiser Charlotte Gray said: “It was mainly a day for the children but towards the end of the event we had a great display from grown-up dancers too.
We really want to thank the church for giving us the hall free of charge, as obviously that means we’ll be giving more cash to Save the Children once we’ve collected all the funds.
