Pupils from Firpark School competed in the 2015 Be Your Best Dundee Rock Challenge® performing their piece ‘On the Brink of Destruction.’

The Firpark youngsters entertained the audience from start to finish with their vibrant costumes and highly imaginative set.

In addition to their infectious soundtrack there was the choreography itself executed at all times by every student with enthusiasm and whole hearted conviction.

During the day real emphasis is placed on watching and supporting the other schools and every team taking part is given the opportunity to vote for their favourite performance.

The event, held at The Caird Hall, attracted a large audience and was supported by Angus Council, Perth and Kinross Council and Police Scotland.

Head of Children and Young People for Angus Council Tim Armstrong said: “It was an amazing evening.

“The range of talent, skill and ability that the young people have shown has been tremendous.

“The dedication and the practice and the rehearsal that went into it, makes me wish I was young again.”

Firpark were recognised by their peers and awarded the highly anticipated Performers’ Choice Award and Be Your Best Foundation awards for healthy lifestyle and positive inclusion.

They also picked up a number of Excellence awards for choreography, performance skill, stage use, drama, costuming character and visual enhancement
