Irish singer Shane Filan is coming to Motherwell Concert Hall this autumn as he branches out on his own after 14 years with Westlife.
Shane was just a teenager when the group formed in 1998 and after 14 UK number one singles and 12 albums called it a day in 2012.
Shane landed a deal with Universal and his debut solo album ‘You and Me’ was released in November.
Musically he mixed things up with an eclectic mix of pop, soul, country, folk and even a hint of traditional Irish music.
Shane said: “When you’re in a pub with a pint of Guinness, watching music that makes you stamp your feet, that’s what makes me happiest.
“It was a pretty nerve-wracking time when the album was released, but knew I’d put my heart and soul into the songs so all I could do was hope people loved them as much as I did.
“The album is very personal to me as it’s very much about my wife, Gillian, so I’m overwhelmed with the reaction - it’s everything I was hoping for.
“I’m excited to see what the future brings. I’d love to keep touring because I have such a passion for it and, of course, I also want to keep on writing and recording music.
“It’s very different being out on my own, but I’m really enjoying it. As long as I get to carry on doing what I love I have no complaints.”
Shane performs at Motherwell Concert Hall on Tuesday, October 28, at 7.30pm.
Since tickets went live they have been selling fast so if you are a Westlife fan or indeed a fan of Shane’s solo work, make sure you don’t miss out.
