It’s almost pantomime time - with the wonderful and traditional Rags to Riches story of Cinderella this year’s production at Motherwell Theatre.

And local young hopefuls are being given their chance to take part in the show as the organisers hold open auditions for ‘Magical Fairy Dancers’ and juvenile chorus dancers over the next few weeks.

The Starstruck Dance Company are giving young dancers the opportunity to appear as ‘Fairy Godmother’s helpers’.

Children performing under Starstruck will appear in approximately eight performances. A block of performances will be allocated by Spillers Pantomimes.

Rehearsals will take place most Sundays throughout September to November and open auditions will be held at Motherwell South Parish Church, 14 Gavin Street, on Sunday, September 14, at 2pm.

The audition is £2 and the maximum height for the magical fairies is to be approximately 3’10”. Minimum age is four years old by the start of the pantomime.

Dancers will be notified if they have met the criteria and will have the wonderful experience of taking part in a magical professional production.

The open auditions for juvenile dancers will be held at Motherwell Theatre on Sunday, September 28, at 11am.

There will be three juvenile chorus dance teams selected by Spillers, performing on a rota basis. The maximum height is to be 4’6” and the minimum age is six by the start of the pantomime.

Dancers should have great stage personality, strong modern/jazz and ballet training and be disciplined and able to take direction and give full commitment to rehearsal period and performances. For more information e-mail
