Motherwell band The Banter Thiefs kick-off the summer festival season on Sunday at Stereofunk in Strathclyde Park.
This comes on the back of the release of their latest single Pretty Boy which features former Socialist MSP Tommy Sheridan in the video.
Bassist Derek Watson said: “We are looking forward to playing at Stereofunk on Sunday, our drummer Darren O’Rourke basically runs the band stage so it is a great chance for us to play alongside bands we like and catch up with guys we haven’t seen for a while.
“It is the only festival we have booked so far, but we have a few more in the pipeline, and hopefully we will get them fixed up in the near future.”
Pretty Boy was played before Motherwell’s recent match with Celtic and the group have been delighted with the response.
Derek said: “We had just got into the ground and could hear it blaring over the tannoys, we didn’t know that was going to happen so it was really nice.
“We’ve had a great reaction to Pretty Boy and having Tommy Sheridan (pictured) in the video has certainly created a lot more interest in the band, with XFM choosing it as their ‘breakout track’ last week.
“We had Stuart McCall in our last video so were wondering who we could get this time and as Tommy started following us on Twitter we decided we’d ask him if he wanted to be involved and he was happy to do it.”
