Youngsters encouraged to give themselves a sporting chance

YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to try new sports as part of Active Schools Community Clubs which are starting up in New Stevenston and Holytown.

Parents are being advised to look out for a red leaflet in their child's school bag, which will contain all the necessary information on how they should go about joining a club.

Freestyle dance will take place at New Stevenston/St Patrick's Primary for eight weeks starting on Monday, January 24.

A multisports club for children with additional support needs begins at Brannock High on Tuesday, February 1.

Kids can reach for new heights by taking part in a basketball club at Taylor High, starting Tuesday, January 25.

A badminton club will run at the Keir Hardie Sports Centre from Wednesday, January 26.

Holytown Primary and Taylor High will both play host to a gymnastics club starting on Thursday, January 27, and Brannock High's begins a day later.

Girls football will run from New Stevenston/St Patrick's Primary from Wednesday, January 26, at a cost of 2 per session.
