UDDINGSTON Bowling and Tennis Club have been given a gift to literally encapsulate their milestone 150th anniversary.

They have been presented with a special capsule by civic pride campaign Supercounty to mark their anniversary and to coincide with the Celebrating Lanarkshire 2013 intiative.

Supercounty head John Scott said: “We recognise the importance of milestone anniversaries and are delighted to help Uddingston Bowling and Tennis Club celebrate their special year.

“The time capsule will let the club leave their mark through a collection of artefacts for future generations to discover.”

Club president John McLaren added: “All 480 members are particularly looking forward to the start of the season in April.

“It’s a very exciting year and I thank the 150 committee for all their work.”
