AN Uddingston kickboxer turned boxer is taking inspiration from WBO super featherweight champion Ricky Burns as he gears up for his third professional fight.
Alexander White has the same promoter, Alex Morrison, as Coatbridge world beater Burns.
The 23-year-old started his boxing career in November. Morrison is a friend of the family and, while using the promoter’s Dalmarnock gym, White was encouraged to take to the ring, winning his first professional bout against Daniel Thorpe by a technical knockout in February and his second against Netherton’s Mark Bett by points in May.
Now the light middleweight is training under another former WBO champion, Paul Weir, ahead of his third fight next month.
