AMBITIOUS plans have been drawn up for an extensive upgrade of Uddingston Sports and Cricket Club’s Bothwell Castle Policies ground.
The redevelopment, which would benefit all three sections of the club by improving facilities for cricket, rugby and hockey, is expected to cost around £800,000 if it goes ahead.
Details have been outlined to club members of proposals which include the creation of a new all-weather astroturf pitch, an additional rugby pitch and extra, upgraded changing and storage facilities.
The plans were drawn up by the hockey section and put to the board of management who plan to have a feasibility study carried out on the proposals.
Although the club stress the project is at an early, exploratory stage, initial discussions have been held with the relevant sections who will be consulted and involved throughout.
