STRATHCLYDE Park Rowing Club hosted the first major regatta on the Scottish rowing events calendar.

Gold medals were won by 13-year-old Jan Meinicke in the under-14 single and double sculls and by Graham Ord (16) in the under-16 double sculls with Tom Claxton, from Loch Lomond.

Jack McGarrity and Ewan Wilson (pictured) won silver in the novice double sculls having earlier teamed with Chris Thomson and Rijul Sethi to edge out their adult clubmates in the novice coxed quads.

Pauline McGovern joined Glasgow club Clydesdale for the day as they won the junior women’s eight.

The senior women had a successful weekend with club vice-president Gillian Connal securing wins in the open double sculls with president Ailie Ord and open pairs with Natalie Irvine.

All three were joined by Hazel Gaddis to win the open quadruple sculls.
