MOTHERWELL golfer Ross Kellett is going for glory again with the Scottish men’s amateur team.
The 23-year-old Colville Park player is in the six-man squad who will aim to repeat their 2009 triumph when they compete in the European team championships at Vilamoura in Portugal from July 5 to 9.
Kellett was in the Scotland team who won the event in Wales two years ago and believes he and his team-mates have a decent chance of taste of glory again.
But first they have to make sure they get through the first phase of the tournament which involves two rounds of stroke play.
From there the top eight countries - with accumulated scores take from the top five players in each team - go through to the knockout match play section.
Ross said: “Winning in Wales two years ago, and beating England in the final, was one of the highlights of my career so far and it’s something I would love to repeat.”
