Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility hosted pupils from schools across the west of Scotland with a physical disability or visual impairment for the fifth Scottish Disability Sport Para-sport festival.

Youngsters received coaching and took part in a range of sports such as badminton, basketball, boccia, athletics, football, judo, tennis, table tennis and rowing sessions.

The event was organised by Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) and supported by North Lanarkshire Council’s Active Schools’ Team, North Lanarkshire Leisure, students from the University of the West of Scotland and Celtic FC Foundation.

Councillor Jim Logue, chairman of North Lanarkshire Leisure, said: “The event is about encouraging young people within mainstream schools who have a disability or a visual impairment to get involved in sport.”
