Members of the Uddingston TAGB club were among the medals when they took part in the Scottish Tae Kwon Do championships at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

Tough competition didn’t put the 21 Uddingston students off and they returned to the club with a haul of 31 medals comprising 13 gold, 11 silver and seven bronze gained in the sparring, team sparring and patterns divisions.

Instructor Kirsty Izat said: “This was a great tournament for the club and I am really proud of everyone who took part.

“For many of them this was their first tournament and it was fantastic to see them come away with medals.

“This year we retained many of the Scottish titles the club held and gained some new ones, so the extra training and hard work from the students if definitely paying off.”
