Aidan McGlynn can’t wait to return to the ring later this month as he competes for the EBF Scottish middleweight title at Fight Club 4 in the Alona Hotel.
McGlynn travelled from his home in West Lothian to train at Barn Boxing Gym in Coatbridge, building up a formidable reputation as a amateur becoming a Scottish and British Champion.
Now after joining Fighting Scots Gym in Mossend he is looking to take the first step to resurrecting his career.
McGlynn said: “I have been out the ring for a year, but I wanted to give the semi-pro route a shot and I have been feeling very sharp in training.
I’m not concerned with who I’m up against, I just can’t wait to get back in the ring. That’s the thing about boxing, once you go back to it the hunger of competition quickly comes back.
“I won titles as an amateur and now aim to pick up gold here and then move onto competing for Britsh and European titles with EBF and if all goes well ultimately turning pro.”
Fight Club 4 takes place on Saturday, November 22, featuring seven semi-pro fights (all EBF title contests), two novice fights as well as live entertainment and a DJ.
VIP tickets (including a three course meal) costing £65 and standard tickets costing £40 are available by calling 07767636366 or from Fighting Scots Gym.
