Former British tennis number two Jamie Baker was on court at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility giving tips to aspiring young players.
Jamie, who announced his retirement during this year’s Wimbledon championship, was in town to team up with North Lanarkshire Leisure chief executive Blane Dodds, himself a former professional tennis player, as they took part in the inaugural Scottish Men’s Doubles Challenge Charity Cup in Hamilton.
Jamie said: “I really enjoy working with young players and trying to pass on some of my experience to help them improve their game.
“Ravenscraig is an amazing facility and provides a great arena to practice the game.”
Blane added: “The indoor tennis court at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Centre has been a great success and through our popular tennis academy, people of all ages from young children to adults can learn and enjoy the sport.”
The tennis academy is delivered by a fully qualified Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) coach with classes taking place in eight week blocks which can be joined at any time.
