Bothwell badminton star Kirsty Gilmour is in line for a possible revenge mission following the draw for the Scottish Open Grand Prix which gets under way at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow next week.
The 20-year-old world number 26, seeded second for the event, goes into action in the first round of the women’s singles against Zuzana Pavelkova of the Czech Republic.
But without taking anything for granted Kirsty will already have her eye on a potential quarter-final clash with Bulgarian Linda Zetchiri who beat her in the semi-finals of the Bitburger Open event in Germany last week.
Spain’s fourth seed Beatriz Corrales is the other big name in Gilmour’s half while top seed Carolina Marin, who defeated Gilmour in the final of last month’s London Grand Prix, is in the top half.
Gilmour is also second seed in the women’s doubles, along with Jillie Cooper.
