Uddingston Hockey Club were represented at the Home Countries Ladies’ Masters tournament held in Swansea.

Margaret White was selected for the Scottish over 55s team and played in all three games against England (the current world champions), England Select and host country Wales.

Meanwhile Uddingston umpire Tom White, Margaret’s husband, was appointed team manager for the squad.

Although the over 55s, in their inaugural year, lost all three games, they played some excellent hockey and thoroughly enjoyed the experience both on and off the field making new friends and renewing old acquaintances.

In all Scotland had four squads at Swansea - over 40, over 45, over 50 and over 55s.

One of the highlights was the gala dinner which was held at the Liberty Stadium, the home of Premiership side Swansea City.

Next year England will be the host nation and Margaret and Tom hope to be back carrying the flag for UHC.
