Golf event boosts Jinky statue fund
A SUCCESSFUL tournament at Bellshill Golf Club on Sunday has given a massive boost to the Jimmy Johnstone Memorial Fund.
With a final sum still to be confirmed, the organisers say the event raised at least 10,000.
The money will help towards the cost of a statue in memory of the former Celtic and Scotland footballer in Viewpark where he lived all of his life.
The winning golfers, with a score of 52.1, were the Captain's Team of David McGrath, John Semple, Craig Longmuir and J Curwood.
