COLVILLE Park AFC are back in the Scottish Amateur Cup final on Saturday - 36 years after they lifted the trophy without kicking a ball.
The Motherwell side are already celebrating a successful season after winning the Central Scottish Amateur League Premier Division.
Now they’re out to top that achievement when they face Hurlford Thistle in the final of the national competition at Livingston’s Almondvale Stadium.
Colville Park won the Scottish Cup in 1976 in controversial circumsances.
They were due to play Cambusnethan Talbot in the final at Hampden Park, but the game was scrapped after a protest from another club.
The Wishaw side were found to have fielded an ineligible player in an earlier round and were thrown out of the competition.
There are three buses from Colville Park going to the final - one for the players and two for supporters. They leave at 1.30pm and the return cost for adults and children is £2. Kick-off is at 3pm.
Full preview in this week’s Motherwell Times & Bellshill Speaker, out on Wednesday.
