BRANNOCK High pupil Leigh Nicol was in the Scotland under-17 squad last week in a double header against European Championship runners-up France.
Both games were due to be played at Livingston’s Almondvale Stadium, but bad weather meant they were played indoors at Toryglen and Ravenscraig.
Nicol, from Newarthill, was an unused substitute in the first game which France won 3-0, but played well in central midfield in the second.
However, the French once again ran out the winners, this time 2-0.
The current Celtic under-17s captain has been called up for a 25-player squad training camp at Toryglen next week ahead of the European qualifiers.
