THORNIEWOOD can move out of the relegation zone with a win over Kilsyth Rangers at Robertson Park on Saturday.
The Viewpark side are currently fourth bottom of the Super League First Division table, with four sides going down at the end of the season, but have a number of games in hand over almost all the other teams in the league.
And a third win in a row on Saturday - following victories over Kello and Renfrew in their last two games - would enable them to leapfrog Kilsyth, who are a place above them in the table.
Meanwhile Bellshill, also fourth bottom of the Central League First Division, will also be out to take a major step towards safety with a win away to fellow strugglers Port Glasgow.
Three teams go down and with Bellshill seven points clear of Port Glasgow, who have two games in hand, an Athletic victory on Saturday would open a significant gap over their closest rivals.
Both games start at 2pm and a Bellshill supporters’ club bus will leave the Orb at 12.30pm.
Non-members will be welcome - for seats phone Alex Conner on 07729 378818.
There were no winners in last week’s lottery. This week’s prize is £2,000.
Both sides are also in action next Wednesday, April 17, with Thorniewood travelling to Yoker and Bellshill at home to Neilston.
