HAMILTON Park Racecourse has spent more than £150,000 on a range of improvements ahead of the season starting on Sunday.
Investment designed to enhance horse and jockey safety includes drainage and returfing work, resurfacing roads and non-slip surfacing in and around the parade ring.
Hamilton Park has also increased its contribution to prize money as well as re-fitting the Bravehearts Bar - all despite losing more than £200,000 last season after four meetings were cancelled due to the weather.
The 18-fixture season gets under way with Cancer Research UK Family Day on Sunday, gates opening at 12.15pm, followed by Casino Royale Racenight sponsored by Thomson on Friday, May 10.
Advance tickets cost from £12 (£13 on the day), concessions/students are £10 and under-18s go free.
