There was a View To A Kill at Hamilton Park as its very own super spy ‘James Bond’ dropped into the racecourse in style ahead of this Friday’s Casino Royale Racenight.

This time round the helicopter – and the Queen – were left behind for 007’s latest covert operation as he roared up in a 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish, of which there are only three in Scotland.

Adding glamour to proceedings, Her Majesty’s favourite secret agent brought two of his Bond girls to check out the stunning £215,000 car, which along with an Aston Martin Rapide will be on display this Friday night, both courtesy of Murray Motor Company.

The Casino Royale Racenight, sponsored by Thomson, is the first evening meeting of Hamilton Park’s 2013 season and will feature six flat racing contests in front of a big Friday night crowd.

One lucky racegoer could soon be soaking up the sun thanks to Thomson, which is holding a prize draw for a £500 holiday voucher on the night.

The competition is open to everyone who attends on the evening, simply by entering their details at the Thomson stand, with the winner drawn live on the evening after the fifth race.

In keeping with the theme the night will also feature cocktails galore - shaken, not stirred, naturally – while there will also be a Bond shooting gallery and a Best Dressed Bond competition.

Even the racing commentators will get in on the act, dropping Bond film titles into the commentary ahead of the fifth race which racegoers will be encouraged to spot, write on a losing betting slip and hand in to take part a special prize draw after the race.

Hamilton Park chief executive Vivien Kyles said: “Our new 007-themed fixture seems to have captured everyone’s imagination and seeing the breathtaking Aston Martin trackside ahead of Friday night has only added to the excitement.

“If, like me, you are a big Bond fan then this is the fixture for you – as well as all the action off the track there is plenty of racing too where you can prove you have a Goldeneye for picking a winner.

“The fact that everyone who attends is able to take part in the draw for £500 of Thomson holiday vouchers is an added bonus – what a great time to win a prize like that.”

Admission tickets are available at the gates from £13 per adult and children under 18 are FREE (under-16s must be accompanied by a paying adult).

Gates open at 4.05pm with first race at 6.05pm.
