UDDINGSTON’S Michael Kerr is ready to make to debut at the Paralympics tomorrow (Wednesday).
The Team GB wheelchair rugby squad begin their medal hunt at the Basketball Arena in Stratford against the USA at 2pm.
The Americans are the world’s top ranked team and the current Paralympic champions, but the GB side are in good form having beaten Australia 52-51 in extra time in the London Invitational Wheelchair Rugby Tournament.
The Brits then conclude their Poll A fixtures against France on Thursday and Japan on Friday, hoping to be in the reckoning when the medals are handed out on Sunday.
Meanwhile Motherwell footballer Jonathan Paterson’s Games have proven disappointing so far as Team GB lost 3-0 to Brazil on Saturday and 7-1 to Ukraine on Monday.
They will aim to restore some pride against the USA, who lost 9-0 to Ukraine and 8-0 to Brazil, in their final Pool B match at 4.15pm tomorrow (Wednesday).
